HOW THE BOTTRILL FAMILY HAS SPREAD!

HOW THE BOTTRILL FAMILY HAS SPREAD!

The Boterel family has certainly spread over the centuries and, although some branches have died out, they have left their mark.
Boscastle in Cornwall was named after Nicholas Boterel in 11th century - Aston Boterell in Shropshire similarly.
I haven't found any Boterel place names in Brittany, although the family still exists there.  But in Catalonia, Spain, there is a town called Botarell where Sir Ralph Boterel died at the end of the Hundred Years' War.
The farthest-flung place is Bottrill Head in Antarctica!  (67°42′S 66°57′W)  It's an expanse of cliffs on the end of the German Peninsula west of Graham Land.
